Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need snow chains to drive to Corin Forest?

Generally no. For the vast majority of the winter season Corin Rd is accessible to all cars however on days of natural snowfall the road may be restricted to 4WD or cars carrying chains.

ACT Roads will usually close the road to all traffic while snow clearing takes place and then re-open the road to all cars once the snow is cleared. In the event of these delays Corin Forest will honour all bookings and reschedule or refund your tickets if your unable to access the resort.

It is impossible for us to predict when the snow will fall or what the effect on the road will be.  We will announce on our Facebook if snow is forecast to give guests warning.

Is the snow at Corin Forest real?

Corin Forest usually receives natural snow about 6 times per winter. For most of the winter we rely on our snowguns to give us our snow cover.

To make snow we wait till the temperatures are below freezing and spray water mixed with air under high pressure and it falls to the ground as snow. We also have an all-weather snowmaking machine that makes flake ice in temperatures above freezing.

No chemicals of any kind are used in our snowmaking process.

Are there entry or parking fees?

At Corin Forest you only pay to take part in our activities. We are located outside of the national park so there are no entry or parking fees.

Is there food available?

We have a large café with an open fireplace (winter only) and a wood fired pizza oven. The café serves a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks and pizzas.

Do we need to book ahead?

We strongly recommend booking ahead. Corin Forest is very popular in wintertime and we only have a limited amount of space in our snow areas. We limit numbers for everybody’s safety and enjoyment.

I just want to watch, do I need a ticket?

As space is limited all persons wanting to enter the Snowplay or Ski areas will need a ticket. If you do not wish to be on the snow and want to watch from our viewing decks beside the Snowplay area and Ski Hill, or just want to visit the café, you do not need to book a ticket.

Do you have gloves available?

We do not have gloves available for rental, however we have a retail shop that sells a wide range of gloves with prices starting from $15.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Provided there is sufficient snow cover all sessions go ahead as scheduled. If Corin Forest management determine conditions are not safe we will not operate activities and give you the option to reschedule or refund your booking.

What sizes are your rental clothes?

We stock all available clothing sizes from the age of 4 to adult 5XL.

What is the youngest age you rent clothing for?

We stock clothing for ages 4 up for younger children we recommend a single piece suit with integrated footwear and mittens.  We are unable to rent these due to hygiene reasons – they are available for purchase from baby shops.

Are you an accessible facility?

The Corin Forest lodge is wheelchair accessible and we have an accessible bathroom. We recommend contacting hello@corin.com.au if you have any questions on mountain access.

When can I ride the Alpine Slide?

The Alpine Slide is open year round (weather permitting). Please check our online booking system for available dates and times.
